Vital Signs is pleased to announce that we will be participating in the second beyond.uptake fellowship program. Vital Signs was selected from a diverse pool of applicants and organizations spanning several countries and will be represented by Dr. Peter Alele, the Vital Signs Africa Field Director.
The beyond.uptake fellowship aims at building organizations’ capacity to use data and predictive analytics to solve big problems and create solutions in the social sector leading to improved organization impact. The beyond.uptake has already had a successful first cohort of fellows from a vast array of organizations.
During the six month fellowship, Vital Signs will collaborate with beyond.uptake’s core team and domain expert partners to analyze the Vital Signs datasets ranging from household surveys, vegetation and soil measurements and remote sensed data from Uganda,Rwanda,Tanzania and Ghana -to build predictive models that help inform various synergies and tradeoffs between agriculture, human well -being and nature. Vital Signs will benefit from data tools and visualizations of its results allowing for non-scientists to better understand the intended data outputs. These will further inform Vital Signs work in promoting data driven policy making and implementation in addition to building its network with other organizations in the data for good sector.
Stay tuned for updates on the results of this work and similar collaborations.
